BIO

Introducing Captain Hareesh Chandra Kumar, who is a retired Army Officer, born and brought up in the city of Nawabs, having studied in St Francis' College, Lucknow. Having undergone academic and military training in the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Hareesh finally got commissioned into the army on passing out from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun in Jun 1990. He is a passionate runner and a keen sportsman, having played soccer from Eastern Command. Having taken to serious running in 2019, Hareesh is glad to have completed his Procam Slam - TSW25K 2023 to VDHM 2024. He has participated in NDM marathon, NDA Marathon & Satara Half Marathon 2024, and is now focused on Tata Mumbai Marathon and KC 2024. Just the thought that he has still got a lot to learn gets Hareesh out of bed, into his running shoes and on the road every morning. He is an active member of a promising running group in Lucknow by the name of "The Running Tribe". He is proud to be part of a much bigger running entity, the "Forces Runners". It was a pleasant learning experience for Hareesh pacing for the first time at TSW25K Kolkata 2023. “I must say, it's a privilege to be pacing yet again this year at the prestigious event”, says Hareesh, as he looks forward to having a great time with all his runner friends.
